[ how exactly do you come back from the dead?

the question never really occurred to steven - waking up in the nexus code was surprising enough. seeing that tendril coming towards him and feeling the momentary, indescribably pain before everything went dark... he thought that would have been his final moment.

but, as cerealia continues to do, he's been proven wrong. after exiting ViViD as quickly as possible (quite a task without his pokemon, as he's come to learn), he finds that his wounds healed as if there hadn't been any in the first place. the only reminder of what had happened are his memories and the blood on his clothes; without the latter, he swears he could convince himself that it was all some sort of nightmare.

the first thing he does is head to his apartment to freshen up - he has responsibilities to attend and people to apologize to, and he doesn't want them to worry more than they might be already. in a crisp suit with not a trace of blood to be found, he heads out to meet the people who he suspects had been burdened by his death.

with edna, he actually has a hard time figuring out that she has any of his pokemon to begin with. he knew that aggron liked her, sure... but he wasn't nearly as close with her as his other pokemon were with the respective humans he found them with. it takes some tracking with skarmory in order to sniff aggron out, but it's kiiiiind of hard to miss a gigantic metal dinosaur-thing with a bird's eye view.

there's a tearful reuinion between him and aggron of course (with the majority of the tears coming from the latter), complete with embraces and the most affectionate of pets. but there's more to this than just picking up his pokemon and leaving, so he shoots her a text: ]

I'm outside your apartment complex.

[ he's not sure what room is her's, and he's in no mood to test them out - this will be easier. ]
